The mammalian cell expression system possesses a robust post-translational modification capability,resulting in recombinant proteins that closely resemble the human native conformation.As a result,it is extensively utilized for the production of therapeutic recombinant proteins,with Chinese hamster ovary cells being the most commonly employed cell line.Advances in genomics,transcriptomics,proteomics,and metabolomics have contributed to the enhancement of the mammalian cell expression system.This review provides an overview of the current research landscape surrounding the mammalian cell expression system,summarizing the latest advancements in optimizing expression vectors,host cells,and site-specific recombination techniques.
