Objective To explore the mediating effect of social support on disease uncertainty and fear and anxiety in patients with thyroid puncture.Methods A total of 250 thyroid puncture patients from January 2022 to December 2023 were col-lected from a hospital as research objects.The fear and anxiety scores,social support scores and disease uncertainty scores of pa-tients were sorted out according to medical records,and correlation analysis was conducted with Pearson method.Mediation effect analysis was used to examine the indirect effects of social support on the relationship between disease uncertainty and fear and anxiety.Results The scores of the simplified fear disease progression scale,self-rating anxiety scale,social support scale and disease uncertainty scale were(35.52±4.66),(49.62±5.07),(37.89±6.13),and(94.52±8.49),respectively.Gen-der and education level were the influencing factors of fear disease progression and anxiety(P＜0.05).Fear and social support,anxiety and social support,social support and disease uncertainty were negatively correlated(P＜0.05),fear and disease uncer-tainty,anxiety and disease uncertainty were positively correlated(P＜0.05).The effects of social support on uncertainty,fear and anxiety were 0.066 and 0.090,and the mediating effects accounted for 27.62％and 2.56％.Conclusion Social support plays a mediating role between disease uncertainty and fear anxiety in thyroid puncture patients.Fear anxiety may be positively correlated with disease uncertainty,while social support is negatively correlated with fear anxiety and disease uncertainty.
