Effects of Bushen Yangyin Qinghuo therapy on periodontitis and IL-1β, IL-6 level in ginggival crevicular fluid
Objective: To observe the effects of Bushen Yangyin Qinghuo therapy on chronic periodontitis and local periodontal immunity,and explore the feasibility of adjuvant therapy with traditional Chinese medicine.Methods: Patients with chronic periodontitis were divided into experimental group and control group.The control group accepted the periodontal basic treatment and root planning,while the control group accepted the oral traditional Chinese medicine after periodontal basic treatment and root planning for a month.There months later,the change of PD,BI and interleukin-1 β (IL-1β),Interleukin-6(IL-6) in gingival crevicular fluid was compared between experimental group and control group.Results: Compared with before treatment,the PD and BI after treatment decreased dramatically both in experimental group and control group (P＜0.05),but there was no statistical difference in the change of PD and BI between experimental group and control group.Compared with before treatment,the level of IL-1β and IL-6 after treatment decreased dramatically both in experimental group and control group (P＜0.05),and there was statistical difference in the change of IL-1 β and IL-6 between experimental group and control group (P＜0.05).The scores of main symptom group and secondary symptom group decreased dramatically in experimental group (P＜0.05).There was statistical difference in the change of secondary symptom between experimental group and control group (P＜0.05).Conclusion: Basic periodontal treatment and root planning had a good effect on periodontitis.Traditional Chinese medicine could regulate the body's immune function,which would help to inhibit the level of inflammatory factor in ginggival crevicular fluid.
