Current status and considerations for evaluating Chinese medicine incompatibility based on safety and efficacy
Chinese medicine incompatibility,as an important part of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)theory,is a critical issue concerning the clinical safety and efficacy of TCM.Although it has been long-standing,whether they can be used together is quite controversial, and no uniform conclusion. In recent years, the related studies on the Chinese medicine incompatibility has gradually increased, and the understanding of it has also been continuously improved. This article explores the current research status of Chinese medicine incompatibility from the aspects of safety and efficacy. The safety-related experiments of Chinese medicine incompatibility suggest that the changes of its components affect its toxicity or efficacy, which is closely related to the occurrence of clinical adverse events;experimental and clinical studies have shown synergistic or therapeutic effects after compatibility. It is suggested that in the future,it should strengthen the research on the changes of the ingredients of Chinese medicine compatibility, attach importance to the monitoring of adverse reactions, carry out experiments based on a clinically established model, and carry out clinical research based on the real world, from which multi-disciplinary,multi-field,and multi-technical cross fusion explores the scientific connotation,in order to provide reference for the safe, effective, and rational use of Chinese medicine incompatibility in clinic.
