Study on relationship between anxiety disorder and motor symptoms in patients with Parkinson's disease in different clinical stages
Objective:To study the relationship between anxiety and movement disorders in patients with Parkinson's disease(PD)at different clinical stages. Methods:Patients with PD were divided into early anxiety group/non-anxiety group(group A1/group B1)and middle and late anxiety group/non-anxiety group(group A2/group B2)according to Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA)and Hoehn-Yahr grading scale. The second and third parts of the unified PD rating scale(UPDRS-Ⅱ and UPDRS-Ⅲ),muscle tonometry, the 10 m walk test(10MWT)and the'walk-stand'timing test(TUGT)were used to measure the patients'motor function. Results:The UPDRS-Ⅱ and UPDRS-Ⅲ scores and TUTG in group A1 were higher than those in group B1;upper limb muscle tone level and stride length were lower in group A1 than in group B1,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).By correlation analysis, anxiety was correlated with TUGT,step length,UPDRS-Ⅱ,and UPDRS-Ⅲ in patients with early PD(P<0.05).Conclusion:Anxiety is highly prevalent in patients with PD,it is also an important factor that exacerbates motor impairment in PD and has a more significant effect on motor function in early PD.
