Clinical observation on post-stroke sleep disorders with pattern of phlegm-heat disturbing the heart treated by Lingnan scalp acupuncture
Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy of Lingnan scalp acupuncture and conventional acupuncture in the treatment of insomnia patients with phlegm-heat disturbing heart type after stroke. Methods:A total of 80 patients with insomnia of the type of phlegm-heat disturbing the heart after stroke were randomly assigned to Lingnan scalp acupuncture group and routine acupuncture group, with 40 cases in each group. The Lingnan scalp acupuncture group was treated with acupuncture at Yangming 1 group,Jueyin 2 group,Jueyin 3 group, and bilateral Shaoyang 2 group. The routine acupuncture group was treated with acupuncture at points such as Zhaohai(KI 6),Shenmai(BL 62),Shenmen(HT 7),Anmian,Sishencong(EX-HN 1),Sanyinjiao(SP 6),Xingjian(LR 2),Fenglong(ST 40),and Laogong. After four courses of treatment, the Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI),severe insomnia index(ISI),and serum 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)levels in the two groups were evaluated and their clinical efficacy was evaluated. Results:After treatment PSQI score and ISI score decreased significantly, and serum 5-HT content increased significantly between the two groups after(P<0.05).During follow-up,the PSQI score,ISI score, and serum 5-HT values in both groups rebounded but not significantly. The rebound amplitude in the Lingnan scalp acupuncture group was lower than that in the routine acupuncture group(P<0.05);The total effective rate was 89.74%(35/39)in the Lingnan scalp acupuncture group, which was significantly higher than that of the routine acupuncture group 68.42%(26/38)(P<0.05).Conclusion:Lingnan scalp acupuncture has a definite therapeutic effect on insomnia caused by phlegm-heat disturbing the heart after stroke, and is suitable for clinical application and promotion.
