Clinical observation of Fushan Tengmi Tea in preventing recurrence of colorectal adenoma after endoscopic resection
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Fushan Tengmi Tea in preventing recurrence of colorectal adenoma(CRA)after surgery. Methods:A total of 124 patients who underwent CRA resection at the Endoscopy Center of Guang'anmen Hospital,China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, with 62 cases in each group. The patients in the group received dietary guidance, and the treatment group was treated with Fushan Tengmi Tea for 12 months, and the recurrence rate, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score change, changes of stool characteristics and safety index of CRA were compared between the two groups, and the risk factors for adenoma recurrence were analyzed. Results:The annual recurrence rate of the treatment group was 33.93%(19/56),which was significantly lower than that of the control group 61.82%(34/55)(P<0.01).Compared with the control group, scores of other symptoms such as halitosis, mental fatigue, shortness of breath and chest tightness, chills and cold limbs, insomnia and loose stool were significantly improved in the treatment group(P<0.05).Sex,age,BMI,number and size of adenomas were all risk factors for adenoma recurrence. There were no abnormalities in the safety indexes of the patients before and after treatment in the two groups. Conclusion:Fushan Tengmi Tea can significantly reduce the recurrence rate of patients after CRA at one year, improve the clinical symptoms of patients, and have high safety.
