Discussion on the application of'blockage of blood leading to the fluid disease'in treating pelvic congestion syndrome
Pelvic congestion syndrome(PCS)is a clinical syndrome caused by pelvic varicose veins,congestion,and poor lymphatic return,resulting in pelvic pain,low back pain,sexual intercourse pain,increased menstruation and vaginal discharge,and even leading to congestion and edema of reproductive organs such as the uterus,ovaries,and external genitalia,which coincides with ZHANG Zhongjing's theory of'blockage of blood leading to the fluid disease'.The core pathogenesis of this disease is the simultaneous blood and fluid syndromes and the interjunction of blood stasis and water.Poor qi function is an important factor in the onset and progression of the disease.Exploring the application of the method of activating blood and excreting water in PCS from the relationship between blood and water,emphasizing the role of regulating promordial qi,can provide new theoretical support and treatment ideas for traditional Chinese medicine in treating PCS.
