Exploration on the physiological function and pathology of brain-gut axis based on Xuanfu theory
The brain-gut axis theory proposes that there is a bidirectional communication between the brain and the intestine, involving neural, endocrine and immune systems, which all play an important regulatory role in the physiological and pathological mechanisms of the body.'Xuanfu'is the most microscopic understanding of the structure of the human body in traditional Chinese medicine theory.Compared with the macroscopic theories of yin and yang and the five elements in traditional Chinese medicine,it can analyze the physiological functions and disease mechanisms of human beings at the microscopic level.Based on the commonality of brain and intestine structures and functions, this paper understands the physiological characteristics and pathological changes of the brain-gut axis from the Xuanfu theory, and expands the connotation of Xuanfu theory, which can provide new ideas for the prevention and treatment of brain diseases in Chinese medicine.
