Research ideas on regulating autophagy with kidney-tonifying method to treat spontaneous abortion
Spontaneous abortion(SA),a common disorder in early pregnancy, has a tendency to recur. However, there is still debate about the schemes and methods of modern medical treatment for SA.The theory of kidney governs reproduction proposed in the Huangdi Neijing has become the guiding principle of traditional Chinese medicine for miscarriage.Currently, the tocolysis effect of kidney-tonifying method has been recognized by both traditional Chinese and Western medicine. However, the mechanism of the kidney-tonifying method in maintaining pregnancy is complex, and its scientific connotation has not been fully explained.Autophagy is a highly conserved metabolic regulation mechanism in eukaryotic cells that plays different roles in various diseases or at different pathological stages of the same disease.Currently, the role of autophagy in SA is not clear. This article explores the potential relationship between autophagy and the treatment of SA using kidney-tonifying method, thereby expanding the research ideas on the mechanism of kidney-tonifying in maintaining pregnancy, with the hope of providing more objective evidence for the scientific meaning of'kidney governs reproduction'.
