'Yingsui'has many meanings since its development in Huangdi Neijing.As the basic principle of acupuncture reinforcing and reducing,it points out the direction for the development of acupuncture theory and also refers to'reinforcing and reducing'.What's more,'Yingsui'can also be understood as Yingqi,Weiqi,evil qi,mother and son,acupoint order,shallow and deep,needling direction,lifting and thrusting,slow and fast,breathing,twisting and turning,opening and closing,a total of 12 acupuncture reinforcing and emptying methods.Although the understanding of'Yingsui'has been widely debated among doctors of all dynasties,the rich meaning of'Yingsui'enlivened the academic atmosphere and made important contributions to the development of acupuncture theory.
