This article attempts to comb the discussion on location of the pulse taking of mingmen in the past dynasties under the visual threshold of the body view and puts forward the author's own views.The doctors of past dynasties had different views on the position of mingmen,which led to the difference in the location of the pulse taking of its.According to the visual threshold of the body view,the positions of the different connotations of mingmen are summarized as:the place where the spirit is stored,the essence is stored,and the place where the qi is stored,and then the corresponding pulse location can be sorted out.Mingmen belonging to the place where the spirit is stored,when we think that the pericardium is mingmen,it is diagnosed at the right chi.Mingmen belonging to the place where essence is stored,if we conceive the right kidney or the two kidneys as mingmen,the right chi and the both chi are respectively used to diagnosis.And when we regard that women take left kidney as mingmen which is also belonging to the place where essence is stored is diagnose at left chi.Mingmen's position mentioned below are all belong to the place where the qi is stored.If we consider that the belly button is mingmen,it is diagnosed at the border of guan and chi and the interumbilical artery can also be used.When we think that the uterus is mingmen,it is diagnosed at the right chi.If we believe that mingmen is between the two kidneys,it is diagnosed at both chi.If the elixir field is mingmen,it can be diagnosed at the right chi or two chi.There is also a saying that Taixi pulse is used to diagnose mingmen,that pulse can not be used to diagnose mingmen.
