Discrimination of the'Radix Ophiopogonis seven liters'of Maimendong Decoction in Synopsis of Golden Chamber
Maimendong Decoction is the first batch of'ancient classic prescription'announced by the state.It is of great significance to study its dosage,composition and other key information.Taking a comprehensive view of ZHANG Zhongjing's prescriptions,the dosage of'Radix Ophiopogonis seven liters'is inconsistent with the practice.Therefore,it is necessary to question whether the'Radix Ophiopogonis seven liters'of Maimendong Decoction is the original dosage of ZHANG Zhongjing?In this paper,using the methods of collation,combined with ZHANG Zhongjing's dosage habits,dosage practices between Han and Tang dynasties,the ratio of medicine and water in classical prescriptions and related ancient records,it is concluded that the'Radix Ophiopogonis seven liters'of Maimendong Decoction in Synopsis of Golden Chamber is not the original amount of ZHANG Zhongjing,while the'Radix Ophiopogonis two liters'recorded in Arcane Essentials from the Imperial Library is the original amount of ZHANG Zhongjing.This study is helpful to correctly understand the dosage of Radix Ophiopogonis and Maimendong Decoction,help to reduce medical risks and improve clinical efficacy,it helps to reduce commercial development consumables and make food safer.
