Clinical efficacy observation of Wentong Chubi Decoction combined with acupuncture and moxibustion on facial neuritis of wind cold blocking collateral type
Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effect of Wentong Chubi Decoction combined with acupuncture and moxibustion on facial neuritis in wind cold obstruction type.Methods:From May 2020 to August 2022,98 patients from Fuyang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital with facial neuritis of wind cold obstructing collateral type were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group,with 49 patients in each group.The control group was given Western routine treatment,and the observation group was given Wentong Chubi Decoction+acupuncture-moxibustion treatment on the basis of the control group.The effect was observed after 3 consecutive weeks of treatment.The traditional Chinese medicine symptom score,facial disability index[facial disability physical function index(FDIP),social life function(FDIS)],facial nerve function(H-B)score,clinical efficacy,neuroelectromyography,and adverse reactions including compared between the two groups.Results:After treatment,the main symptoms of the observation group including mouth eye deviation,eyelid insufficiency,shallowing of the nasolabial groove,secondary muscle soreness,bulging cheek/shrugging shoulder asymmetry,the scores of Chinese medicine syndromes of hypogustia and tinnitus were lower than those of the control group(P＜0.01).After treatment,the FDIP score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.01),and the FDIS score and H-B score points in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.01).The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.92％(47/49),which was higher than that of the control group of 77.55％(38/49)(P＜0.01).After treatment,the potential latency of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P＜0.01),and the amplitude was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.01).There was no statistical difference between the two groups in the incidence of total adverse reactions.Conclusion:The efficacy of the combination of Wentong Chubi Decoction and acupuncture-moxibustion has significant effectivity,and can improve the neuromyoelectric condition in patients with facial neuritis of wind cold obstruction type,which is safe and reliable.
