Helicobacter pylori(Hp)infection is one of the most critical factors in the development of chronic gastritis, and most patients have no apparent symptoms in the early stages. The characteristics of Hp's insidious pathogenicity are similar to the theory of latent pathogen. This paper analyses the evolution and prognosis of Hp infection in chronic gastritis in a dynamic and holistic way by applying the theory of latent pathogen and combining traditional diagnostic techniques with modern scientific diagnostic techniques. This paper summarizes the evolution of the pathogenesis of Hp-infected chronic gastritis as follows:the beginning of the pathogenesis of the disease is that the latent pathogen is hidden and the dampness blocks the qi,the beginning of the pathogenesis is that the dampness becomes microscopic and the dampness becomes heat, and the phlegm becomes phlegm and stasis enters the ligaments and the latent pathogen becomes nesting. It is also discussed the possibility of misdiagnosis and misinterpretation in the diagnosis of various stages of the disease,in hope to provide important theoretical references for the improvement of traditional chinese medicine diagnosis of Hp infection in chronic gastritis.
