Clinical prediction model is widely used in medical decision-making,medical quality management and medical resource allocation because of its predictive effect on disease diagnosis and prognosis.The overall concept and prognosis of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)have a good practical guiding value for the study of prediction model.This paper excavates the significance of TCM thinking to the construction of prediction model,and discusses the factors that limit the prediction ability of TCM from the point of view of research design type,prediction factor screening,data bias and modeling methods.The study of high-quality prediction model of TCM should proceed from TCM thinking,improve the research design,strictly screen the prediction factors,and integrate the characteristics of integrity,dynamics and personality into the prediction model research.
