Inheritance and development of ZHENGs'acupuncture school in Gansu
ZHENGs'acupuncture in Gansu,one of the famous school of acupuncture and moxibustion in China,was well-known at home and abroad.Dr.ZHENG Yulin,the founder of the school,created the needling methods of'warm reinforcing technique'and'cold reducing technique'.ZHENG Kuishan,son of Dr.ZHENG Yulin,inherited and innovated ZHENGs'acupuncture,summarized and put forward the'eight methods of acupuncture for diseases treatment':diaphoresis,emesis,purgation,mediation,warming,clearing,tonification and resolution,and created the needling method of'eye-transmitting heat'and'scapula-penetrating heat',which belonged to the representative needling techniques of'warming-dredging needling technique',had remarkable therapeutic effects and were good at treating difficult and miscellaneous diseases.This needling method constituted the core and essence of ZHENGs'acupuncture and had a very high reputation both domestically and internationally.This paper summarized the origin and foundation of ZHENGs'acupuncture,its formation and creation,the inheritance and development history,as well as its main characteristics,thus contributing to the promotion of the inheritance and development of ZHENGs'acupuncture in Gansu.
