Time medicine in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)is a discipline based on the theory of Chinese medicine,combining the five movements,six qi,ying and wei qi and blood operation and other laws to explore the correlation between human physiology and pathology and the time rhythm of the natural world,and it has been widely used in the prevention,diagnosis,treatment of diseases and health care.The effect of acupuncture therapy is closely related to the time factor,and its time-efficacy relationship affects the clinical efficacy of acupuncture.Current research focuses on exploring the correlation between acupuncture efficacy and the time factor,but there are still problems such as irregular parameter setting,insufficient sample size,and a lack of mechanism research.This paper summarises the current application of TCM time medicine in acupuncture research,based on TCM time medicine,from the timing of acupuncture treatment,the time of needle execution and retention,the interval time,and the duration of acupuncture treatment,etc..It can help to understand more comprehensively the importance of combining acupuncture therapy with time medicine,and at the same time,it can broaden the ideas of acupuncture clinical diagnosis and treatment,and provide reference for the standardised development of acupuncture and moxibustion.
