Effects of Erchen Decoction and Changpu Yujin Decoction on cognitive function in obsctive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome patients
Objective:To investigate the effects of Erchen Decoction and Changpu Yujin Decoction on cognitive function in patients with obsctive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS).Methods:Ninety patients with OSAHS complicated with cognitive function impairment were randomly divided into non-invasive ventilator group, traditional Chinese medicine treatment group and traditional Chinese medicine+non-invasive ventilator group, with 30 cases in each group. The changes of apnea hypopnea index(AHI),minimum blood oxygen saturation(LSaO2),Montreal Scale(MoCA)score, serum hydroxyl radical inhibition(·OH)and total antioxidant capacity(TAOC)were observed before and after treatment. Results:After treatment,LSaO2,MoCA score, inhibition·OH ability and TAOC were increased(P<0.05),and AHI was decreased(P<0.05)in all groups compared with before treatment.Compared with non-invasive ventilator group and traditional Chinese medicine group after treatment,LSaO2,MoCA scores, inhibition·OH ability and TAOC in traditional Chinese medicine+non-invasive ventilator group were higher(P<0.05),and AHI was lower(P<0.05).Compared with non-invasive respiratory group after treatment,LSaO2,MoCA score, inhibition·OH ability and TAOC in Chinese medicine treatment group were lower(P<0.05),and AHI was higher(P<0.05).Conclution:Erchen Decoction and Changpu Yujin Decoction combined with non-invasive ventilator can improve cognitive function in patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypoventilation syndrome, and the mechanism may be realized by inhibiting oxidative stress.
