Analysis of the concept of 'Rouzhu' in Huangdi Neijing
'Rouzhu'is an important term of the theory of human body structure in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).However, there have been few systematic studies on its concept not only in Huangdi Neijing but later literature.Through analyzing the original texts of Huangdi Neijing, sorting the related ancient and modern literature, and deeply discussing the relationship between'Rouzhu'and Jingjin,Weiqi and Qixue, this paper concludes that:in terms of structure,'Rouzhu'is an interstitial anatomical structure whose peripheral structure is Jingjin, and is specifically located on the level of deep fascias;in terms of function,'Rouzhu',located in the boundary between the surface and inside of the human body,is an important channel for the circulation of Weiqi in the surface of the human body,as well as a key part for acupuncture to regulate Rongqi and Weiqi. In this paper, the concept of 'Rouzhu'is preliminarily clarified,in order to provide references for the theoretical research of human body structure of TCM,the clinical practice of acupuncture, and the standardization research of TCM terms.
