Comparison of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome types between autoimmune gastritis and multifocal atrophic gastritis
Objective:To analyze the difference in the distribution of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome types between autoimmune gastritis and multifocal atrophic gastritis. To provide a reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune gastritis. Methods:A total of 112 patients were included in the study.Patients'general information and clinical symptoms were collected to establish TCM syndrome classification. The distribution of syndrome types in 252 cases of multifocal atrophic gastritis in previous research groups was compared with autoimmune gastritis.Logistic regression analysis was performed on the correlation between TCM syndrome types. Results:Both autoimmune gastritis and multifocal atrophic gastritis had the most distribution of spleen and stomach weakness syndrome.Autoimmune gastritis had more distribution of liver and stomach qi stagnation syndrome, liver and stomach depression-heat syndrome, and stomach yin insufficiency syndrome than multifocal atrophic gastritis, while had less distribution of spleen and stomach damp-heat syndrome and gastric luminal stasis syndrome than multifocal atrophic gastritis. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).Logistic regression showed liver and stomach qi stagnation syndrome was positively correlated with autoimmune gastritis(P<0.05).Spleen and stomach damp-heat syndrome and gastric luminal stasis syndrome were negatively correlated with autoimmune gastritis(P<0.05),respectively.Conclusion:Differing from multifocal atrophic gastritis, autoimmune gastritis had more distribution of liver and stomach qi stagnation syndrome and liver and stomach depression-heat syndrome than multifocal atrophic gastritis.Liver and stomach qi stagnation syndrome was positively correlated with autoimmune gastritis. We should pay more attention to the liver as a pathogenic factor and the role of hepatic depression in the occurrence and development of autoimmune gastritis in clinical diagnosis and treatment.
