Investigation on the local initiation mechanism of acupuncture acupoints under the perspective of cellular mechanical response
Acupuncture,as a traditional Chinese medicine external treatment method,is essentially a mechanical physical stimulation.Although acupuncture has been widely used in the treatment of many diseases with outstanding efficacy, its deep-rooted effect mechanism is still not fully understood.Currently, research on the effect mechanism of acupuncture points focuses on the target organ level, while the investigation from the local perspective of acupuncture points is still insufficient. With the continuous deepening of cellular mechanics research, scholars have gradually focused on the fact that cells,as the basic unit of organism structure and function, play a key role in sensing and responding to mechanical signals.Cells sense and respond to cellular mechanical signals primarily through structures such as the extracellular matrix, mechanosensitive receptors on the cell membrane, the cytoskeleton, and the nucleoskeleton.Given that the mechanical stimulation produced by acupuncture points will also have some effects on these mechanoreceptors, this paper will explore the mechanism of local initiation of acupuncture acupuncture points under the perspective of cellular mechanical response.
