Clinical efficacy observation of Qihuang needle therapy in mid-term postoperative pain after rotator cuff repair
Objective:To observe the effect of Qihuang needle(QHN)therapy on mid-term shoulder pain and function after arthroscopy rotator cuff repair(ARCR).Methods:Retrospectively analyzed 166 patients who received ARCR in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to December 2022.A total of 60 patients were finally included and were divided into 2 groups according to whether QHN therapy was performed 6 weeks after ARCR.The control group(30 cases)received conventional rehabilitation therapy, and the treatment group(30 cases)received QHN therapy based on the control group. The active, night, and rest pain visual analog scores(VAS),shoulder forward flexion, abduction, posterior extension internal rotation mobility,University of California-Los Angeles(UCLA)shoulder score, and adverse reactions were recorded before and after the treatment in both groups, respectively. Results:All measures in both groups were significantly better after treatment than before(P<0.01).Active pain, night pain VAS scores, forward flexion, abduction mobility, and UCLA scores improved more significantly in the treatment group than in the control group after treatment(P<0.05).No adverse effects were observed in either group during treatment. Conclusion:QHN therapy with conventional rehabilitation treatment can safely and effectively improve pain and mobility in the mid-term after ARCR,and promote shoulder functional rehabilitation.
