TCM master HUANG Jinming's experience in the differentiation and treatment of Gudao disease from the theory of'poison and deficiency theory'of Zhuang medicine
Professor HUANG Jinming,TCM master,suggestes that Gudao disease occurs when the flow of qi and blood in the Gu pathways is disrupted or blocked due to the deficiency of healthy qi,coupled with the invasion of toxic turbidity,resulting in the desynchronization of the heaven,earth and human,and eventually the disharmony between qi and blood within the body.The basic pathogenesis indicates that qi deficiency in the Gu pathways causes the blockage of toxic turbidity there and subsequently disordered qi activity.It can be categorized into three different types:upper Gudao,middle Gudao,and lower Gudao disease depending on the location,which are interrelated and affect each other.The disease typically manifests as combined deficiency and excess as well as combined cold and heat,and differentiating what is primary from what is secondary matters.In traditional Chinese medicine treatment of Gudao disease focuses on transforming turbidity,removing toxins,regulating qi,reinforcing deficiency,and resolving stagnation with a range of self-developed formulas that have been proven effective,casting a new light on the treatment of Gudao disease.
