Tracing back to the ancient medical practice of'inducing qi through meridians manipulation',this study delves into the deep cultural connotations symbolized by water in the etymology and morphology of the Chinese characters for'meridians'.It examines the characteristics of qi flow within the meridian system.Drawing on classical texts, the research highlights the targeted, interconnected, and dynamic linear ordering of the Five-shu points and Yuan-source points located below the elbow and knee joints along the limbs. To quantitatively describe the ebb and flow of qi,this paper introduces an approach using a 126-point rectangular electrode array combined with nonlinear dynamical analysis to extract electrophysiological features of acupoints. This preliminary exploration into the amplitude, location, and area of acupoints contributes to an objective representation of surface characteristics at acupoints, offering a new perspective and methodology for the study of traditional acupuncture phenomena.
