Objective:To evaluate the psychometric properties of item bank in five-pattern personality test, simplify it,and validate the short form of the test.Methods:Cross-sectional study was conducted in three medical examination centers of three 3a hospital in Guangzhou from February 2023 to July 2023 and 670 participants were enrolled.Item response theory(IRT)method was employed to evaluate the item bank, which was used to perform computerized adaptive testing(CAT)simulation to select items for the development and validation of short-form scale. Results:The short-form scale was developed and included 15 items, which shorten 65.9%(29/44).Correlations between the short form and the full item bank was high(r=0.83~0.94),the short form had no DIF on different gender subgroups(△%B1<5%).Conclusion:The item bank in traditional Chinese medicine five-pattern personality test satisfy the requirement of CAT simulation. The short form of the scale based on CAT simulation can be conducted to estimate personality characteristics in efficient and accuracy way.It should be applicated and promoted in personality testing with localization character in China.
