Effects of moxibustion at Guanyuan(RN4)and Shenque(RN8)on tissue oxygen saturation and surface temperature of Ren and Du meridians in subjects with yang deficiency constitution
Objective:To observe the effects of moxibustion at Guanyuan(RN4)and Shenque(RN8)on the tissue oxygen saturation and surface temperature of Ren and Du meridians in subjects with yang deficiency constitution.Methods:A total of 50 subjects with yang deficiency constitution were randomly divided into control group and moxibustion group,with 25 cases in each group.The control group only received health propaganda,while the moxibustion group received moxibustion intervention on the basis of health propaganda,with 30 min of moxibustion at Guanyuan(RN4)and Shenque(RN8)every time,once every other day,5 times as a course of treatment,a total of 2 courses.The scores of yang deficiency constitution,tissue oxygen saturation(StO2),oxyhemoglobin(Oxy-Hb),and surface temperature of the acupoints on the Ren and Du meridians were recorded before and after the intervention.Results:After the intervention,the scores of yang deficiency constitution in the moxibustion group were significantly lower than those before the intervention(P＜0.01)and significantly lower than those in the control group(P＜0.01),the StO2 levels of Danzhong(RN17),Qihai(RN6),Dazhui(DU14),Zhiyang(DU9),and Mingmen(DU4)in the moxibustion group were significantly higher than those before the intervention(P＜0.01,P＜0.05),and the StO2 levels of Danzhong(RN17)and Dazhui(DU14)were also significantly higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05).The content of Oxy-Hb in Dazhui(DU14)and Zhiyang(DU9)in the moxibustion group was significantly increased compared to before the intervention(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).The surface temperature at Danzhong(RN17)and Mingmen(DU4)in the moxibustion group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Moxibustion at Guanyuan(RN4)and Shenque(RN8)may increase the energy metabolism level of the meridians by regulating the StO2,the content of Oxy-Hb and the temperature of the Ren and Du meridians,thereby improve the yang deficiency constitution.
