Practice and effect of prescription pre-audit in a maternal and child health hospital
OBJECTIVE To investigate the implementation and efficacy of prescription pre-audit in a maternal and child health hospital,and to provide reference for rational drug use in relevant medical institutions.METHODS The prescription data of 12 months before the implementation of prescription pre-audit system(July 2018 to June 2019)and those of 12 months after the implementation(August 2019 to July 2020)in a maternal and child health hospital were selected respectively as control group and research group.The pharmacist review workload,medical order/prescription qualification rate and changing trends,use rate of antibiotics,and average cost of prescriptions were compared between the two groups,and the types of the unqualified medical order/prescription were analyzed,and then the experience and problems of applying the prescription pre-audit system were dis-cussed.RESULTS The pharmacist review rate of inpatient doctor's orders after applying the prescription pre-audit system was 1.57%,the that of outpatient and emergency prescriptions were 0.19%;the qualified rates of inpatient doctor's orders,outpa-tient and emergency prescriptions in the control group were 96.61%and 98.27%,respectively,and those in the research group were 97.45%and 98.48%,respectively;the use rates of antibacterial drugs in the control group and the research group were 24.76%and 20.70%,respectively;and the average amount of each prescription in the control group and the research group were 143.48 yuan and 145.21 yuan,respectively.CONCLUSION The application of prescription pre-audit system in the maternal and child health hospital is conducive to improving the qualification rate of prescriptions and medical orders,promoting rational drug use and the transformation of pharmacist services,and better providing more accurate and high-quality pharmaceutical ser-vices for women and children.
