Investigation and exploration on the improvement of compliance of inhaled preparations in patients with chronic airway diseases
OBJECTIVE To explore the influencing factors of the compliance of patients with chronic airway disease with inhaled preparations after discharge and the optimization of the return visit period, and explore the methods to improve the compli-ance of patients with medication.METHODS Collect the information of patients with chronic airway diseases who were dis-charged from the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of The First Hospital of Qinhuangdao from June 2019 to June 2021,and investigate the compliance of patients with inhalation preparations in two weeks, one month, two months, six months, twelve months, and eighteen months after discharge through questionnaires.RESULTS The overall compliance of patients included in this study was poor.Logistic regression analysis showed that low educational level, inability to operate the device correctly, and the use of a large number of inhaled preparations at the same time are risk factors for poor compliance.Post hoc multiple comparative analysis showed that continuous telephone follow-up by clinical pharmacists at two weeks, one month, two months, six months, twelve months, and eighteen months after discharge can gradually improve medication compliance,The compliance scores between the twelve months and eighteen months groups are similar, and follow-up to twelve months after dis-charge can be used as a follow-up period.CONCLUSION Twelve months of follow-up can effectively improve patients'medica-tion compliance.Clinical pharmacists focus on the population involved in risk factors during the follow-up process, and strengthen medication education and reminders for such patients.
