Hyponatremic encephalopathy with insular and cortical lesions caused by desmopressin:one case report
As a derivative of arginine vasopressin,desmo-pressin is mainly indicated for central diabetes insipidus,noc-turnal enuresis and hemophilia.This report described one case of hyponatremic encephalopathy due to desmopressin.Reversible abnormal signals were detected by imaging in cor-pus callosum,insula and cortex.The objective to enhance the clinician's understanding of special imaging manifestations caused by desmopressin.Strict control of water intake should be implemented according to package insert for avoiding adverse reactions.
