KAP investigation of COVID-19 prevention and pharmacotherapy among kidney transplant recipients during COVID-19 pandemic
OBJECTIVE To explore the knowledge-attitude-practices(KAP)status and influencing factors among kidney transplant(KT)recipients on Coronavirus disease(COVID-19)prevention and pharmacotherapy during COVID-19 pandemic in China to provide references for health science popularization and follow-ups of KT recipients during future epidemics of communi-cable diseases.METHODS Taking adult kidney transplant recipients as survey objects, online questionnaires were utilized for collecting the relevant information and conducting a KAP survey.Various influencing factors were examined.RESULTS A total of 382 valid questionnaires were obtained and 304(79.58%)diagnosed as COVID-19.Among them,26.44%had a higher knowledge of COVID-19 prevention and pharmacotherapy,22.77%had a positive attitude and 35.34%behaved well.A positive correlation existed between knowledge, attitude and practices. They generally acquired a high level of knowledge and decent prac-tices about the protective measures of COVID-19 infection. However, there were insufficient knowledge, negative attitude and poor practices about pharmacotherapy. The results of multivariate regression analysis showed that Han population, higher educa-tion level, vaccination against COVID-19 and non-infection of COVID-19 were correlated significantly with knowledge.Indi-viduals with a monthly income ≥20 000 yuan had significantly more positive attitudes than those with a monthly income<3 000 yuan.Younger age and higher monthly income level were correlated significantly with better practices.CONCLUSION During COVID-19 pandemic in China, for boosting their knowledge, attitude, practices and the level of rational pharmacotherapy,spe-cialized medical professionals should implement health science popularization and strengthen patient management in a timely man-ner,especially ethnic minorities,low-educated,low-income,elderly and rural residents.
