Short/long-term economic evaluations of Semaglutide Injection for the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
OBJECTIVE To systematically review the short/long-term economic evaluations of Semaglutide Injection.METHODS The databases of PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,Cochrane Library,EBM Reviews-Health Technology Assessment,EBM Reviews-NHS Economic Evaluation Database,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wan-fang,VIP and ISPOR were searched from inception until December 1,2023.Two researchers independently screened reports,extracted raw data and evaluated qualities.RESULTS A total of 38 articles were included.From the perspective of research countries,Semaglutide Injection was economically advantageous compared to other GLP-1 receptor agonists(e.g.dulaglutide,exenatide ER & liraglutide)and insulin glargine.When compared with SGLT-2 inhibitors(empagliflozin &.canagliflozin),Sema-glutide Injection demonstrated superior long-term economic benefits.CONCLUSION Further economic studies based upon real-world data of Chinese populations are required for providing decision-making references for stakeholders.
