Modern theoretic researches on"Liquor and Medicine"in Chinese Medicine
Wine processing has been one kind of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)processing technology and medicinal potential of wine remains an important theory of TCM processing.Wine and medicine may be applied for alleviating bitter cold,enhancing an activation of blood circulation,boost pain relief and tonify liver and kidneys to achieve the outcomes of minimizing toxicity and enhancing efficacy.The changes in composition and efficacy before and after wine preparation were explained thor-oughly for confirming the scientific validity of concoction theory of wine processing.This review summarized the historical evi-dence,theoretical validations,mechanistic explorations and research trends of wine system.Modem researches have concentrated upon the efficacy and detoxification of wine system with the quality markers of TCM and the mechanism of targeted preparation to provide scientific evidence for further developing concoctional theory of"Liquor and Medicine"and offering guidance for clinical use of TCM.
