Investigation and Analysis of Medication Compliance in 150 Patients with Perimenopausal Syndrome
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the medication compliance in patients with perimenopausal syndrome, analyze the influencing factors of medication compliance,so as to provide reference for medication management of patients with perimenopausal syndrome.METHODS:A questionnaire survey was performed in patients with perimenopausal syndrome revisited in the menopause clinic of West China Second Hospital,Sichuan University from Feb.to Apr.2023.Morisky scale was used to investigate medication compliance, and the risk factors affecting medication compliance were analyzed by binary Logistic regression model.RESULTS:A total of 151 questionnaires were sent out and 150 were effectively recovered(recovery rate was 99.34%).Of 150 respondents,70.00%(105 cases)took the disease seriously, yet 69.33%(104 cases)did not understand perimenopausal syndrome,74.67%(112 cases)did not know enough about the importance of using medication to treat the disease, and 50.00%(75 cases)did not know enough about the dangers of not following the instructions.Of 150 respondents,54 patients(36.00%)had good medication compliance and 96 patients(64.00%)had poor medication compliance.Univariate analysis showed that medication compliance of patients with perimenopausal syndrome was related to on-the-job status, education level, residence, monthly income, marital status, postmenopausal status, understanding of the importance of medication, and understanding of the harm of not taking medication as prescribed(P<0.05).Binary Logistic regression analysis showed that the risk factors leading to poor medication compliance were monthly personal income<10 000 yuan,single,pre-menopausal,and not understanding the importance of medication(P<0.05).Patients believed that providing health knowledge of disease popularization, individualized medication education or online medication reminder in hospitals could improve medication compliance.CONCLUSIONS:The overall medication compliance of patients with perimenopausal syndrome is not high, and medication compliance is affected by economic factors, family environment, disease and drug cognition level. It is suggested that hospitals should carry out health knowledge popularization, individualized medication education and online medication reminder to improve medication compliance of patients.
