Improvement Effects of Compound Kushen Injection Combined with Opioid Analgesics on Pain,Quality of Life, and Coagulation Function in Patients with Advanced Colorectal Cancer
OBJECTIVE:To probe into the improvement effects of compound Kushen injection combined with opioid analgesics on pain, quality of life, and coagulation function in patients with advanced colorectal cancer(CRC),and to explore the relevant mechanism of action by reviewing literature.METHODS:Totally 106 patients with advanced CRC admitted into the hospital from Jan.2019 to Mar.2024 were extracted to be divided into the monotherapy group(n=53,treated with tramadol hydrochloride or oxycodone hydrochloride)and combination therapy group(n=53,treated with compound Kushen injection combined with tramadol hydrochloride or oxycodone hydrochloride)via the random number table method.Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores, pain relief, quality of life(KPS score)and coagulation function(D-dimer and fibrinogen expression levels)were compared between two groups before and after treatment.RESULTS:Before treatment, there was no significant difference in VAS score,KPS score,D-dimer and fibrinogen expression levels between two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the VAS score in the monotherapy group was(1.28±1.08)points,lower than(2.72±0.72)points in the combination therapy group;the degree of pain relief in the combination therapy group was significantly better than that in the monotherapy group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).After treatment, the KPS score of combination therapy group was(85.28±11.23)points,higher than(78.87±12.81)points of monotherapy group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the expression levels of coagulation function indicators(D-dimer and fibrinogen)in monotherapy group were slightly higher than those before treatment, the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05);the expression levels of coagulation function indicators of patients in the combination group was significantly lower than those before treatment, and lower than thos of the control group in the same period, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).CONCLUSIONS:The combination of compound Kushen injection and opioid analgesics is effective in relieving pain, improving quality of life and coagulation function in patients with advanced CRC.
