Traditional Chinese medicine has been used for the treatment of acne for over two thousand years,with the characteristics of consideration to both manifestation and root cause,regulation for both internal and external factors,few adverse drug reactions,and low dependence.This article reviews the historical evolution,modern clinical research,and product analysis of the application of traditional Chinese medicine in acne disease through literature review and reports.Through tracking the historical origins,summarizing the current application status,exploring the excellent methods of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of acne,the development direction was analyzed.Traditional Chinese medicine is widely used in acne disease,with numerous treatment methods,including oral therapy,external therapy,and special therapy,which has significant therapeutic effects during the treatment process.Due to individual differences,treatment should be based on patients'physical condition and appropriate treatment methods should be selected.This article aims to systematically explain the acne treatment experience of clinicians,and provide reference for future clinical traditional Chinese medicine treatment for acne.
