Analysis of French Promotion and Communication Strategies in International Organizations
At the end of the 17th century,French became the first diplomatic language in the world.In the face of the rapid rise of English in the 20th century,the status of French in the world began to be marginal-ized,and its role as an international lingua franca was increasingly weakened.By far,French is the second most popular language of international relations and diplomacy in the world besides English,which is insepa-rable from its promotion and communication strategy in international organizations.The study summarizes the development and evolution of the status of French in international relations and its promotion and commu-nication strategies since the 20th century and conducts data statistics and analysis on the 7th edition of the Tracking and Monitoring Report issued by the Promotion Manual of the Use of French in International Organizations from 2008 to 2020,to explore the effectiveness and shortcomings of French promotion and communication strategies in international organizations,so as to provide reference for promoting the applica-tion of Chinese in international organizations and enhance its international influence and discourse power.
