From Intertextuality to Interdiscursivity:A Comparative Study of Discourse Patterns in Institutional Language Policies
Based on the micro-level discourse dimension, taking institutional language policy texts on language and script work in the new era issued by the State Council, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Government, and the Ordos Municipal Government as the corpus, drawing on specific discourse strategies and grammatical realizations as researchpath, this study focuses on a comparative analysis of discourse pat-terns in institutional language policies, aiming to explore the relationships and formation mechanisms of dis-course patterns in institutional language policies across multiple-level government. The research indicates that, firstly, institutional language policies at multiple-level governments are presented through discourse blending and meaning reconstruction to achieve re-contextualization;secondly,power relations are reflected through category radiation and discourse orientation, highlighting inequalities;thirdly,multi-dimensional discourse spaces are constructed through reference association and discourse commonality;fourthly,ideolog-ical orientations are clarified through consensus of meaning and deepening of its discourse. The above findings not only provide some reference for the construction of discourse patterns in Chinese language policy but also offer practical guidance for enhancing the utility of language policy discourse research.
