The Academic Dissemination Capacity of International Chinese Education Research——Analysis of International Scholarly Publishing,Academic Collaboration,and Research Progress in SSCI Journal Publications
Based on a review of literature published between 2012 and 2022 in SSCI journals,this article ex-amines the state of international Chinese education in terms of international scholarly publishing,academic collaboration networks,and research progress.It reveals both advancements and limitations in efforts to en-hance the academic dissemination capacity of International Chinese Education.While the quantity of journal publications has increased,there is still a need for improvement in terms of quality,as relatively few papers appear in top-tier journals.Furthermore,despite the deepened academic collaborations within the expanding global research networks,it is notable that most productive and influential teams are affiliated with universi-ties overseas,underscoring the importance of developing more impactful academic teams in Chinese universi-ties.Although there have been research breakthroughs achieved through the integration of a socio-cultural perspective,emphasis on teacher agency and identity,attention to learners'multi-competence,exploration of Chinese language heritage and identity,and expansion of language policy and planning,there is a continued need for more multi-dimensional and impactful investigations.The article concludes by providing recommen-dations for continuously improving the academic dissemination capacity of International Chinese Education re-search.
