A systematic review of the efficacy and safety of sinus balloon dilatation in the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis in adults
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of sinus balloon dilatation(SBCD)in the treatment of adult chronic rhinosinusitis. Methods PubMed,Medline,CNKI,CBM,VIP and Wanfang databases were searched, and all randomized controlled studies meeting the inclusion criteria were collected.Meta-analysis was performed on the extracted data using Revman5.4.Results A total of 13 studies were included.Meta-analysis showed that the ratio of successful sinus ostium dilation in SBCD group was similar to that in control group. There was no significant difference between SBCD group and control group in SNOT-20 score 3 months after surgery,SNOT-20 score 6 months after surgery,Lund Kennedy endoscopy score 3 months after surgery, and ratio of normal olfactory function 3 months after surgery. The incidence of postoperative complications in SBCD group was lower than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion The effect of sinus balloon dilatation in the treatment of adult chronic rhinosinusitis is comparable to that of functional nasal endoscopic sinus surgery, and the complication rate is lower,so it is worth promoting in clinical treatment.
