Observation on the therapeutic effect of combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine with external ear treatment for extremely severe sudden deafness
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine with external ear treatment combined with conventional medication on patients with extremely severe sudden deafness(SHL)due to qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome.Method A total of 80 patients with extremely severe SHL due to qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group with 40 cases each.The control group received routine drug treatment.The treatment group combined traditional Chinese and Western medicine with external ear treatment on a routine basis.The improvement of pure tone audiometry,tinnitus score,and HAMA score between two groups of patients after treatment were combined.Result The total effective rate of the treatment group was 72.5%,while the total effective rate of the control group was 42.5%.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The tinnitus score and HAMA score showed statistically significant differences before and after treatment.Conclusion The combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine with external ear treatment combined with routine treatment can effectively improve the efficacy of patients with extremely severe SHL.
