Clinical experience of Tongdu Tiaoshen Acupuncture in the treatment of sudden hearing loss
Objective To investigate the clinical curative effect of Tongdu Tiaoshen acupuncture therapy for sudden hearing loss(SHL).Methods A retrospective analysis of 65 SHL cases in our hospital who met the inclusion criteria was conducted.33 cases in the control subjects were treated with conventional western medicine for 10 days,and 32 cases in the trial group were treated with Tongdu Tiaoshen acupuncture 10 times,once a day.The mean changes of pure tone audiometry and clinical value of the two groups before and after treatment were evaluated.Results After treatment,the mean of pure tone audiometry decreased visibly in both groups(P<0.01),and that in the trail group was lower than that in the control subjects(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the trial group was superior remarkably to control subjects(P<0.05).Conclusions The acupuncture therapy of Tongdu and Tiaoshen can obviously improve the clinical curative effect of SHL patients,promote hearing recovery,and less little adverse reactions,which is of clinical application.
