Endoscopic Surgical Strategy for Glomus tympanicum tumors
Objective Glomus tympanicum tumors is one of the common benign tumors in the middle ear,primarily growing in the tympanic cavity during the early stages,presenting with pulsatile tinnitus,hearing loss,and a sensation of fullness in the ear.Due to atypical symptoms,they are prone to misdiagnosis or missed diagnosis.With the advancement of endoscopic techniques,ear endoscopy has become a feasible option for surgical intervention.Methods This article collected data from three cases in our department,where glomus tympanicum tumors were excised through the external ear canal using ear endoscopy.Results Hearing was preserved in 3 patients with complete tumor resection.Conclusion Endoscopy for resection of glomus?tympanicum tumors provides patients with a safe,minimally invasive,and fast-recovery surgical option.
