Meta analysis on the efficacy and safety of Tongqiao Biyan Granule in the treatment of allergic rhinitis
Objective To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of Tongqiao Biyan Granule(TQBYG)in the treatment of allergic rhinitis.Methods According to the Cochrane systematic evaluation method,searched databases were Pubmed,CBM,CNKI,VIP,WanFang and so on to collect randomized controlled trials(RCT)on TQBYG in the treatment of allergic rhinitis(AR)from Jan.2010 to Dec.2020.Then,RevMan 5.3 software was used for Meta-analysis on these reports.Results A total of 11 RCTs were collected,including 1072 subjects in total,with 533 cases in the combined therapy group(CTG)with TQBYG plus routine treatment procedure and 539 in the routine treatment procedure group(RTPG).Then,Meta-analysis was carried out on these trials and the results showed that the total clinical symptom score[MD=-1.88,95%CI(-2.67--1.09),P<0.00001]and the effective rate[MD=0.14,95%CI(0.09-0.18),P<0.00001]of cases in CTG were significantly superior to RTPG,with the improving amplitude of serum IL-4 level[MD=-1.68,95%CI(-2.08--1.28),P<0.00001]in CTG was also obviously larger than that in RTPG as well.However,there were no statistically significant difference in the side effects between these two groups.Conclusion The therapy combined Tongqiao Biyan Granule with routine treatment procedure should be better in its therapeutic effects than that of simple routine treatment procedure for allergic rhinitis.
