Analysis of related factors of fever after tonsillectomy with adenoidectomy in children
Objective To explore the related factors of fever after tonsillectomy in children,and provide reasonable basis and reference for perioperative treatment.Methods The data of 417 children who underwent tonsillectomy with adenoids due to tonsil hypertrophy's obstructive sleep apnea caused by adenoid hypertrophy in Hangzhou Children's Hospital from January to December,2021 were analyzed retrospectively.The relationship between postoperative fever and children's gender,age,tonsil size,adenoid size,tonsillitis times,sinusitis,course of disease,operation season,operation period,operation duration,intraoperative blood loss and bacterial culture results was analyzed.Results ①Among the 417 children,91(21.82%)developed postoperative fever.The statistical results showed that there were significant differences in postoperative fever rates among children of different ages,sexes and operation periods(P<0.05).The age of children with fever is younger than that of children without fever.The fever rate of female children is higher than that of male children.The fever rate was higher before 10:00,and it was from 12:00 to 14:00.There was no significant difference in postoperative fever rate among children with different tonsil size,adenoid size,tonsil inflammation times,sinusitis,course of disease,operation season,operation duration,intraoperative blood loss and bacterial culture results(P>0.05).② With the volume of tonsils and adenoids increasing,the fever rate of children increased.Children with symptoms of sinusitis during perioperative period are more likely to have fever.Conclusion The age of children with fever after tonsillectomy with adenoidectomy in this study is younger than that of children without fever.The fever rate of female children is higher than that of male children.The fever rate was higher in children who underwent surgery before 10:00,followed by 12:00-14:00.
