Clinical application of continuous septal penetration suture in endoscopic nasal septal correction
Objective To explore the clinical application effects and advantages of continuous suture of nasal septum in nasal septum correction under nasal endoscopy. Method Sixty patients treated in Hanshan County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were randomly divided into two groups, one group underwent traditional nasal packing and the other group underwent continuous suture of nasal septum. The surgical effect, operation time, bleeding volume and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to evaluate nasal congestion, headache, ear fullness, tearing, swallow disturbance and sleep quality 24 hours after surgery. Results There was no significant difference in surgical effect, operation time and bleeding volume between two groups (P>0.05). In the VAS evaluation 24 hours after surgery, patients who underwent continuous suture of nasal septum showed better relief of nasal congestion, headache, ear fullness, tearing, swallowing difficulty and improved sleep quality (P<0.05). Conclusion Continuous suture of nasal septum is an effective method in nasal septum correction under nasal endoscopy with the advantages of convenience, short recovery period and effective relief of patient's pain and discomfort, which is worthy of promotion in clinical practice.
