Objective Exploring the impact of motivational interviewing on the quality of life of patients undergoing surgery for OSAHS. Methods 146 patients with snoring in our hospital from December 2022 to September 2023 were selected. All patients received surgical treatment for snoring. The patients were randomly divided into control group (n=73) and observation group (n=73). Routine nursing was carried out in the control group, and motivational interviews were given in the observation group on the basis of routine nursing. The sleep status and quality of life of the two groups were compared. Results The body mass index (BMI),apnea times per hour (AHI),sleep quality PSQI (pittsburgh sleep quality inedx,PSQI) and Calgary quality of life score of the two groups were compared between the two groups. It was found that the observation group had obvious advantages in various indexes, and there was significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion Following surgical treatments for OSAHS,providing patients with motivational interviewing nursing services in addition to standard care not only effectively controls their BMI and reduces the number of apneas per hour of sleep but also improves their sleep quality and overall quality of life. Therefore,it is worth promoting in clinical practice.
