Interpretation of Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Ulcerative Colitis with Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine
Ulcerative colitis(UC)is one of the intractable diseases of the digestive system.In 2021,the Ex-pert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Ulcerative Colitis with Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine was addressed and categorized by the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine.In 2023,it was released.This article,building on previous consensuses on integrated diagnostics and treatment of UC,pro-vides a detailed interpretation of key aspects of the 2023 consensus,including the Traditional Chinese Medicine no-menclature,the clinical positioning of integrative medicine,the combined diagnosis process,the concept of brain-gut coordination,Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome differentiation,and treatment strategies.The aim is to deepen the understanding of this consensus among peers and to promote the development of integrative medicine in treating UC towards standardization and unification.
