Analysis of influence of fire source depth on smoke flow characteristics and fire detection methods in deep well vertical space fire
In order to understand the fire smoke flow characteristics of deep well vertical spaces such as deep well vertical garages and deep underground mines, and to provide early warning for such fires,a deep well vertical space model was con-structed using a certain deep well underground garage as a prototype. The influence of fire source depth and heat release rate on the smoke flow characteristics of deep well vertical space fire was analyzed through numerical simulation, and the changes in temperature and velocity fields were mastered. The results show that when the depth of fire source is large enough, the smoke may not reach the wellhead due to the decrease in upward buoyancy and velocity. The deeper the fire source is,the higher the temperature of hot smoke above it.There is a critical value for the influence of fire source depth on the smoke flow, that is,the critical depth. When the fire source is higher than the critical depth, the fire source can entrain air from the exit of deep well. When the fire source is below the critical depth, the fire source can only entrain air from the interior of deep well.On this basis, the selection and layout optimization methods of fire detectors suitable for deep well vertical spaces are dis-cussed.The research results can provide scientific reference for the prediction and warning of deep well vertical space fires.
