Influence of emergency shutdown system on accident consequence of natural gas leakage catastrophe
In order to clarify the influence of emergency shutdown(ESD)system on the hazardous load development charac-teristics in the natural gas leakage catastrophe,a prediction and evaluation model for the accident consequence of natural gas leakage catastrophe was established by taking the ground processing system of natural gas development as the research object. The spatial migration and explosion behavior of natural gas under the response of ESD system were studied and compared with the predicted results when the ESD system was not responsive. The results show that ESD system helps to reduce the gas leak-age rate, thus influence the dispersion behavior and explosion characteristics of the leaked natural gas,and may even com-pletely eliminate the suffocation impact and block the catastrophic escalation of natural gas leakage accident. The response of ESD system should be considered when assessing the accident consequence of natural gas leakage catastrophe. The research results can provide reference for the design and optimization of disaster prevention and mitigation measures for oil and gas pro-cessing operations.
